With movies getting so lengthy - perhaps reviewers should include a "best time to run to the bathroom" hint in their reviews where they can describe what non-essential plot point will be laid out, the scene that precedes it and the amount of time you have to make your exit and return.
Top Gun Maverick - the football scene. (what you saw in the commercials is pretty much it).

Funny you should mention that: I listen to Bill Simmons' "The Rewatchables" podcast, where they review popular movies from the recent past, and interesting categories they fill like "Movie Prop You Would Like to Have" and "Dion Waiters Heat Check Award" for the minor character who does the most in his/her limited time, etc.
Well, a couple weeks ago they had a special episode where they decided to add new categories to the podcast. I missed that one, but caught the one after where they reviewed "Cop Land," and lo and behold, one of the new categories was "Best Time to Take a Bathroom Break." As one who's sat through a few 2 1/2 to 3-hour MCU movies, I thought that was a fantastic idea.

Last Bond film. I really liked it, until the end. Something happens that should never happen in a Bond film.

The new Jurassic Park. Big, silly fun. Don’t think to much about the plot. Good to see the original cast. I was entertained and enjoyed the popcorn and the atmosphere in IMAX. Probably no need to rewatch on streaming.

I'm very curious about the next one. Who the next Bond will be, how they will "reboot" the franchise etc.

I tell everyone I see that Harry Styles was born to play James Bond. If he goes in as 009 to work with the new 007 and they sort of turn Bond into a pair, that would be a lot of fun.

I loved the woman that he helped him in Cuba. She was fantastic.

I always thought Cary Elwes would make a good Bond.

I don't think Elwes has the presence, the ability to project the potential for physical violence, to carry off Bond.

The Card Counter on HBO +. Oscar Isaac does a wonderful job of projecting stillness, a restrained quiet energy while retaining the feeling that he also carries the potential sudden energy of a coiled spring. Nominally a gambling movie, and there are some good pieces of one in there, but there are a couple of major subplots that really drive the story which are not connected to gambling at all.

Solid cast and script. Little overt physical violence. Little sex/nudity. It's largely a character study of a damaged person who has learned to move through life on his own terms and what happens when he lowers the barriers and steps outside of his self-defined comfort zone. I really liked this movie, but there are parts that are disturbingly psychologically violent. It's an odd story, but quite well done. It's hard to say much without tossing out huge spoilers.

Oscar Isaac, Tiffany Haddish, Willem Dafoe.

I've always liked Elwes, but you can't put him in that role. The theater audience is going to have "Princess Bride," "Men in Tights," "Hot Shots" running through their heads.
