Yeah, except for millions not unemployed, restaurants and gyms and libraries and other public businesses now open, thousands not dying daily, trillions not being wasted in Afghanistan, kids just finishing a year of in-school learning. To start with.

And the fact we don't have criminals trying to steal elections and democracy in the White House is a pretty fucking big thing to celebrate.

But thousands of Texans don't have power. Again. So yeah, nothing has changed.

That’s a part of it. Another part is that nobody was driving anywhere for three quarters of 2020 and the first half of 2021. The oil companies slowed down production. Now everyone is driving just as much or more as pre-pandemic and the oil companies are trying to make up for the profits they lost. Also, with the entire economy mostly paused during all that time, I don’t think it could be turned around on a dime.

 

This is the guy millions of Americans want back in power by any means necessary.

 

Almost twice as many Californians are “in the dark” at the moment, but the real head-scratcher is Maine, which has half again as many (as Texas) account-holders in outages.
