Nope. The NBA has done this before. The 2-2-1-1-1 format returned in 2014 and this schedule is similar to what they had pre-pandemic starting in 2016.

2016 (Warriors-Cavs): Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday, Thursday, Sunday

2017 (Warriors-Cavs): Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday

2018 (Warriors-Cavs): Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Friday

2019 (Warriors-Raptors): Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday, Thursday

The two years before the switch in 2016 was nicer.

2014 (Spurs-Heat): Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday

2015 (Warriors-Cavs): Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday

2020 (bubble) and 2021 (July) was off for obvious reasons.

Giving up a Saturday or a Sunday (especially a Sunday) is stupid. So is playing on a Friday night. They should done Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday and Thursday. Then play Game 5 on Sunday. Then Game 6 on Wednesday. Then Game 7 next Sunday.

For some reason, maybe it was Bruins. Maybe it was the Ringling Brothers at MSG but the ‘73 ECF was 1-1-1-1-1-1-1. Every other game.

the 2-3-2 format seems to give a good home court advantage. But 3-4-5 at the lower team also pushes a series to go 6 or 7, seemingly.

In the 2-3-2 format from 2000 to 2013, it went seven games three times, six games five times, five games four times and a sweep twice.

Since going back to 2-2-1-1-1, there has been one seventh game, three that ended in six, two that ended in five and one sweep (2018). I didn't include the bubble year of 2020 (six games).

For the hopheads, where does this series rank in terms of swings back and forth? Game to game, quarter to quarter.

There is probably some stat that is/can be devised using change in win probability.

This game is just horrible to watch. It's a bricklayers convention. Where are Riley and the Knicks?

Cripes, the Warriors had a 2-on-1, going in for a layup -- but let's kick it out for a three.

I was going to say Warriors fans’ collective buttholes have got to be puckering but Boston is just terrible at the line.

Warriors are going to win without Steph hitting a 3?
