Finally, was reading today’s fish wrap about how Udoka only trusts 7 players and then how the Ws subs like Bjelica have come through when called upon.

Kerr learned well from Phil because IIRC that’s exactly how he coached, making sure everyone on bench would be ready when called upon, Jud Buechler, randy brown, etc.

In his defense, there's mayyybe one other guy he should have given more regular season run to (Nesmith). As it is, he's relying on Danny Woodhead 2.0 and Grant Williams, the latter of whom he desperately wanted to strangle last night. Time Lord's health is a killer for him, too.

And, in all seriousness, which is the better one to have? I mean, at first blush I thought the latter but then again, maybe that's a selfish attitude that doesn't lead to winning results? I dunno. It is a good quote tho.

I think that is the kind of quote that makes the speaker appear very wise. But as a practical matter is useless.

I took it to mean some guys won’t win because they want to be the reason they win.

See - Scottie Pippen with Toni Kukoc, vs. Michael Jordan with John Paxson. That being said, the only guy that's seemingly wanted to hang out with Thomas since he's been done playing is James Dolan, and he's not exactly the one I'd look to for insight to human behavior.

St. Kobe tanked it because his fee fees were hurt because people liked Shaq better

I think Isiah might be referring to himself
He didn’t win when he went crazy against the Knicks and Bernard King nor when he scored 25 in the third quarter against the Lakers
The Pistons were more of a team and less the Isiah show when they won titles

When you look up the 2003-04 NBA champion it reads Detroit
There is nothing that says (should have been the Lakers, they were the better team)
There have been plenty of teams where guys hated each other and won anyway

Yeah. Kobe still threw that series, just to prove how indispensable a happy healthy Kobe Bryant was to the Lakers.
