So you think Mr. Greene has ever been subject to racism? That's the crux of the problem, people who have never been subjected to racism telling others how to handle it (or not handle it.)

I don't know, weird experience I had an an Amtrak overnighter on the Capitol Limited from Chicago to Washington recently. My blond-haired, fair skinned daughters were sprawled out sleeping on a few empty seats near my wife and I. Same for a black couple whose daughters were doing the same thing. Conductor asks the black girls to move back to their seats putting all four of the family together and left ours in the seats where they were sleeping. Subtle, but when I watched it unfold, it made me think of this thread.

Yep, those things pile up one after another. Sad.

Please understand from my POV, even as someone of color, I never equate my experience with those of African descent. This is far more likely to happen to them than me and my family.

I've had an experience which I now regret not speaking up. I quit but never said the real why. At a Mom/Pop establishment. Owner constantly found a reason not to hire the person of color. Ok. Some reasons seemed legit. Then, the boss actually asked me about a potential CLIENTS with a term I never heard before, and still won't get right. "Are they megameloninic"? That's similar to the term he used. I remember only being confused, and while trying to decipher his words he said "You never heard that before? Are they black"? I answered yes, they are, and quit the next day. I feel shame for taking an easy exit.

There was absolutely nothing subtle about that.

I see the Post has no issues calling out non-white racism. It's just the other kind that doesn't exist, I guess.
