You ever wanted to know what "rear differential" meant?

This is so simple, man almost 100 yrs ago when it was made and very easy to digest.

    Very cool.

    What else?

I have some hard-won knowledge of the diff. Spent a grand about 6 years ago to get mine fixed on an SUV.

    A Chevy Tahoe, naturally.

Was it 15 minutes to a dealership?

I instead nursed it to a transmission place in Plano where the Charlie Daniels of the differential plied his trade.

Then you start getting into the more intricate modern all-wheel drive systems, that sense in real-time when to give the drive control to the rear differential.

Too bad it wasn't near Atlanta. Then you could sing, "The differential went down in Georgia."

Did you take on a biker bar while you waited?

I don't know when that piece was filmed, but the car in it was a 1936 Chevy.

One of biggest advancements in ICEs to me was change from carbs to fuel injection.. in 1988 when I got my 5.0 Mustang GT with multi port fuel injection was like making my car a rocket.

As Le Mans came and went, I thought a lot about the two greatest race cars ever made:
