A friend knew of the Jaguar's ignition problem, and knew how to fix it. He found one for sale in which the owner did not know how to fix it. It was cheap because it wouldn't start. Friend showed up with a new battery stashed away, and told the guy if he agreed to buy it, it was a done deal, no backing out. They agreed. Friend replaced the battery, started it up and drove it away.

When I got my first good paying job, I considered buying a Land Rover. Instead I bought a Chevy SUV that ran almost forever until I got rear-ended on the interstate. I chose... wisely.

My neighbor, who once worked the pits for CanAm racing, can fix all things fixable. He had his diesel Mercedes' hydraulic power window system completely disassembled, fixed, and reinstalled the same day. But he also had a Jag with a leaky roof and it sat for years before he got an offer.

Is Lake Mead in danger of running dry? Not good, Jerry.

    I really hate summer weather. It's 7:15 p.m. and 90 degrees.
I got so overheated yesterday, I started puking.

I am spending the week without a car. When I pick it up Friday I’ll have a new compressor, a new condenser and an $1800 hole in my wallet.

150 feet in the largest lake in Gilead is a long ways down the road, but in the words of our fave desert tribe member, it's not nothing.

Cutting usage by two to four million acre-feet? (An acre-foot is the amount of water it takes to cover an acre of land a foot deep in water.) Yeah, it will be the Feds making that plan, because the states are going to freak out and dither or try to water grab for themselves.
