But every time I see him I think of this.

And really, it never clocked with me how odd it was that he enters the room at the end of Wonka and gives Charlie the the thumbs up. What the hell is that about?

This kid from Baylor looking around like “Fuck! Arena’s almost empty, I’m going to be on a two-way contract and I’ve got a damn entourage. Who the hell are half these people? I ain’t buying drinks.”

Warriors are in a position to take on a project or two. Of course, committing to him a couple of years may be a problem, albeit a pleasant one. And the Sea Dubs could be fun to watch as well.

And now that I'm watching my late local news: Who dressed Banchero?

re: Baldwin, he was a subject of controversy on the URI college basketball message board I moderate. As in, "How the hell is this kid a draft prospect?" URI had a miserable year and fired its coach, and we still beat Milwaukee pretty easily, and I think Baldwin was like 1-for-8 in 26 minutes of play.

Unfortunately, I think the key thing with him is health, and he might be permanently damaged after a pretty severe injury he had in HS. He hasn't flashed the same athleticism since then, and he's also had other nagging injuries. Going to GSW is probably a "best case" scenario for him, given the success they've had with keeping Curry upright and the rehab they've done on Thompson.

In other vaguely URI-related news - GSW also drafted Tyrese Martin in the 2nd round, before trading him to the Hawks. Martin spent a year with URI before transferring to UConn to follow Dan Hurley. He makes good sense on the Warriors or the Hawks - hard-nosed guard, good defender, attacks the rim, but suspect offense. He could have played a Mitten-like role on GSW (but they already have that) and the Hawks could use more guys like him, assuming he makes the club. He shot 43 percent from 3 in his final year at UConn, an outlier from 33ish percent the other years, and his mid-60s percentage from the FT line.

This...this is more than Kendrick Perkins gave America in four hours last night.

As a casual basketball fan, can someone explain to me what the Knicks are doing? Dumped a draft pick and Kemba Walker’s salary to Detroit for what, exactly?

I believe the move gives them somewhere between $8M to $16M in cap space. They can cut or trade some other guys to get to $20M or $30M+ somewhat easily. Of course, James Dolan is still their owner, so attracting a free agent is harder than with other teams. Looking at their past 10 years, 2020-21 looks like an outlier, based on Thibs getting 150 percent out of everyone and Randle having a career year. The consensus seems to be that at #11, there were still some good players that could have been rotational pieces for them, and keeping that player was probably better than essentially using it to dump Kemba.

Jalen Brunson, whose father is an assistant coach and whose former agent is team president, is expected to happily take the Knicks’ $$$

Oof. Nice player, but the kind of fringe all-star you don't want to give a bag of money to.
