The EPA (or any government body created out of thin air and filled with unelected appointees) shouldn't have the power to make up laws by decree and enforce them with dictatorial authority. We live in a democracy. Grim is the antidemocratic system we have gravitated toward because the ends justify any means. Let Congress create (or not create) those laws. That is how you legislate in an actual democracy.

Also (and isn't this ironic?): The by-2030 emissions goals set by the Obama-era EPA in the original days of this dustup have already been achieved.

Democracy is dead. The Senate is broken. Only lobbyists write laws.

God forbid that Congress recognize a large scientific problem, delegate limited jurisdiction and power to scientific experts. What we need is a committee of Elise Stepanik, Maxine Waters and a rock to be named later instead of the experts at the EPA

The idea of a filibuster is great - one Senator alone in the pit of the Senate speaking out against a planned vote, hoping to rally the public against some travesty - there used to be a "risk/reward" to it. Maybe your allies, supporters turned on you or maybe they were replaced by the majority of Americans. Now, its just a procedural move that requires nothing of the person "doing" the filibuster - unless, like Ted Cruz or Rand Paul, the ENTIRE POINT of the exercise is to make a TOTAL JACKASS out of oneself out of spite.

It's fine. We live in a democracy after all.

I'm certain that we can count on Congress and industry lobbyists to come to an agreement on measures that will protect us from climate changes associated with global warming.

There's not enough blue ink to cover that one.
