I cannot believe one has not been created, yet.

So what is the appeal of this series? I saw the first season and thought it was very much like a Stephen King series, which I like, but with everything else available to watch, I didn't go any further.

    The character development.

Steve primarily and the introduction of Max and Robin. The last season pinballs you from three different settings almost like a Marvel movie.

The writers leaked yesterday that five people were dying in the last two episodes of season 4 and there was legit panic that a favorite character would die.

The production values, the humor, the effects and most of all, what Scout said, character development.

Robin's quest to fulfill her rightful romantic desires....and Steve's commitment to helping her-----so awesome.

I don’t know that Steve is anymore committed than any friend would be. That’s the beauty of his character. It’s not an overreaction. It’s not an under-reaction. It’s how everyone should act when they find out a friend is gay; nothing changes. Their friendship just naturally develops through their adventures. He’s there when she needs him, but he’s not always asking her if she needs help.

And until the second half of the bathroom scene, I had no idea until Hawke’s body language started to speak for her. What an actor.

First season was some of the best horror/suspense in years. Brilliant sense of dread and fear. Season two was very strong. Had the “bigger and badder” feel. Season three was pretty crappy imho. Too much drama, not enough of the suspense. Season four rebounded extremely well. The new antagonists are real and scary for a lot of different reasons. There are some visuals that will really stay in my memory for a long time.

One hour left because we tried to squeeze it all in last night after the kids went to bed, but with a 9 a.m. baseball game had to give in.

So while still not knowing how this season ends, it is simply fantastic. Great TV. Tying everything from the whole show together, origin stories, building characters, the humor is great despite the tension. Definitely some scary moments. And of course you can't discount all the freaking pop culture moments, especially with movie shoutouts. I may need to go back and count all the freaking movie references throughout the series. It doesn't stop at the 80s either. Dungeons and Dragons aren't my thing, but can't forget about that element too.

I can get that it isn't everyone's cup of tea, but this is just fun stuff. And they have knocked season 4 out of the park in my mind.

I’m not ready to read the rest of the thread, but I’m just here to give a huge fuck yeah to the guy who looks like a cross between Robert Plant and Dave Mustaine for shredding to Master Of Puppets.

The kids are just so damn good at acting and their bonds are so compelling. Like above, Steve and Robin is beautiful without any tension, such a good message too. Dustin and Eddie V wannabe too.

Three of the five original kids are terrible actors. Well, two are horrible, one is decent and two are good. I don’t put the high schoolers of season 1 in that group of five.

Yeah - Billie is good, Gaten is good comic relief / sidekick, and Caleb McLaughlin got some time to work this season. But they're overshadowed by Nancy and especially Steve, and the actors they add later to the cast. (Clearly because they got a better 'pick' of talent.)
