Lots of talk about the Best Christmas Movie, but what movie is the quintessential 4th of July movie? Jaws? Independence Day? Gettysburg? Born on the 4th of July? Die Hard? Captain America? To Kill A Mockingbird? National Treasure? 1776? The Patriot?

I used to think Gettysburg. But now it seems preserving the union only delayed things and we’re only a couple steps from being right back where we started.

    God bless America.

Yankee Doodle Dandy, the Cohan bioflick starring James Cagney.

Whatever is playing in the theater that weekend.

Go to a 1 pm showing then celebrate at a BBQ with friends.

Born on 4th had a ver profound effect on me. Up until then I had drunk the Kool-Aid that my 1-12 grade education poured,

I pledge Allegiance to the flag,
    Everyone is equal,

Most importantly, nothing better than to serve and protect your country.

Well Kovacs’ story got me to start thinking about the Vietnam War and why we were there and what we were doing.

I’ve never questioned soldiers, all due respect but they’re just the chess pieces. It’s the policy makers that are at fault.

My choice has always been The Music Man.

    Diehard!

It's as much of a Fourth movie as a Christmas movie!

We can be cold as our falling thermometer in December
If you ask about our weather in July

It’s a great movie, and one that makes you think. Absolutely.

Unfortunately, the main thing I remember about it was taking a girl I really liked to see it, having a thorough discussion about the movie and other things over pizza afterward … and getting the “you’re a great guy, but let’s just be friends” line when I dropped her off.
