десять: She pissed off her doubles partner by pulling out of that event even before it began the day after she beat Serena.

xi: Now that Raducanu has been bounced early again, what's the over/under on number of coaches she'll go through for the year? So far she's at four in the last 10 months.

The worst part was she informed her partner of that fact via text an hour before the match was supposed to begin.

Halep looks like the favorite to me. She's playing fantastic. She just blew away Badosa.

Kyrios could be the Ivanisivic story for this year? Potential finally fulfilled? Not a great guy.

Entertaining as hell, but cannot root for such an ass --- who occasionally tanks matches to boot.

He tanked the last game of the fourth set against Nakashima.

I just remembered a question I was going to ask yesterday.

Did anyone else see the man in what looked like a 19th-century military uniform with a red coat (complete with a medal) and black hat sitting in the front row of the Sinner-Alcaraz match?

This isn't a very good shot of him (it's at a distance), but you can see him in the upper right corner of the screen in this video at the 1:03, 1:40, 1:55 (the closest and best shot), 2:20 and 2:55 marks.

On the broadcast, he could be seen clearly in the background of countless close shots of the server on that end of the court. I'd love to know who he is and what his deal is.

The man in the mixed doubles team Williams and Murray played on Friday was also (sur)named Venus. It was very confusing.

Badosa got wiped out by Simona Halep today, so Jabeur is the only single-digit seed in the quarterfinals and the only seed of any kind on her half of the draw. The other half includes Halep, American Amanda Anisimova, a seeded Kazakh girl and an unseeded Aussie. I believe Halep is the only one of the lot who has ever won a Slam.

Which, combined with the way she's playing now, makes her the favorite, IMHO.

The only other one in the round of 16 who has was Ostapenko.

The interview with Rafa after his win today was just another reminder of what a great person he appears to be; just a fantastic man.
