A short article by Mitt Romney in The Atlantic. I wish he would've named names in his reference to some possibilities for President who are waiting in the wings.

America Is in Denial

 

weak-ass Democratic Party. The comparison someone drew to a pre-1985 George McFly is extremely apt.

 

Totally serious here. Do you think the US is really on the edge? Ready to fade to Russia or China? Like the dollar will be worth nothing? No states will be "united"? We will fade with a whimper? Because I like and trust the brains here, and if it's inevitable, I want to end my run, give what I got right now so the heirs can put it to the new and better use before it's worthless. Is what I've built in money and housing useless?

 

I do think the US has been so distracted by infighting the last six years, other countries have taken full advantage. I don't buy the "end of the world" talk, but I do think people counting/expecting on the current political leadership on both sides of the aisle to lead us out of this thicket are freaking nuts.
