Bummer, just magnificent for him to fight through that 5 setter while serving at 75%. Dammit, was rooting for Rafa. Kyrgios could serve Djoker off the court or be led quickly to a 6-2, 6-2, 60 meltdown. Odds heavily on the meltdown.

Unlike the foot, this injury isn’t career threatening. Will be back for the U.S. Open, maybe even Cincinnati. Overall a good tournament for his future prospects given he said the foot’s fine. The post-French treatment must have worked. Have to believe he’ll play the French next year, and if he does why not keep going through the 2024 Olympics at Roland Garros.

Well, Norrie blows Djokovic away in the first set. Breaks Djoker's serve three times.

But we've all seen this before, haven't we?

Tim Henman, of whom this Norrie fellow is doing quite an impression, won at least one set in three of the four Wimbledon semifinals he lost in a five-year span.

    This is insane.
Why are there still line judges (who, being human, get calls wrong) when the final can just be called electronically?

Makes no sense to me. Rybakina hits an apparent winner, which is called out. She doesn't challenge, and the eye shows the ball to be in.

    What are we doing here?

The tennis didn't miss linespersons an ounce when they were gone during the pandemic.

This next game feels like the match to me. Ons has to get the break back. She also needs to stick with the drop shot game. She's not going to win a power contest with Rybakina.

Fuck me. Three break points. Loses five straight points to lose the game. Ugh.

She had her shot and let it get away. But maybe the biggest thing was Rybakina getting to the drop shots and playing more confidently at the net.

The other thing was Rybakina’s demeanor never changed. She stayed calm and even the entire match — and even after she won. I told my wife that was the least emotional reaction I’ve ever seen from anyone after winning a major.

Was thinking the same thing. She acted like she won a first-round match in a Challenger.

Lots of credit for Rybakina's strategy change after the first set. Ons' first serve pretty much abandoned her, too, which didn't help.

Born in Moscow. Lives in Moscow. Changed nationalities because Kazakh federation offered her more financial support.

Great job banning those Russians, Wimby! :)
