As I said in the other thread, I was floored that there were Gap Band fans here, even fanatics. I admit to stereotyping, just didn't broaden my mind enough, thought there were so many serious rockers, alt-rockers, etc. did not see potential fellow retro soul/R&B fans through the trees.

Besides the Gap Band, who are some of your other favs from the 70's & 80's?

    Some of mine:

    EWF
    Commodores
    Jackson 5 & Jackson & Michael
    Kool & the Gang
    Marvin Gaye
    Con Funk Shun
    Whispers

    Any reason Prince is separated?

BTW, I brain farted on him, should have been on my list.

I love the Gap Band! Also a fan of Cameo and.....the great, forgotten Midnight Star (No Parking on the Dance Floor, Freakazoid and Operator).

For some reason, I wasn't sure if you would include him.

    And, he stands alone.

This was just skimming my playlist.

If you love old school soul acts (or what’s left of them) B-list casinos in the Deep South are a gold mine.

I've discovered that no matter the age, in my family or wife's family, if I put on Sly and the Family Stone, everyone is pretty happy.

Lakeside had other singles too, including All The Way Live. For a moment in time, Dayton was a music hotspot.
