If Canada lets him in, Ogie Oglethorpe was robbed.

There's a St. Louis up the street from us, quality wings. I think Boston Pizza is garbage but the ones near me are packed on weekends so they must be doing something right..

I think I said this already, but I don't know about this. I'd rather have Samsonov @ $3 or $3.5 million than Kuemper @ $5+ million. I think Kuemper is fine if you have a great team around him. But I don't see that huge an upgrade for that extra money if you are team like the Caps. Maybe I underrate Kuemper.

And you overrate Samsonov. He's a below average goalie. Only a hot start to his career has made his numbers look good. Horribly inconsistent and prone to giving up bad goals. Samsonov couldn't hold off Vitek Vanecek in net. Kuemper is a significant upgrade. Maybe Samsonov will turn things around in Toronto. We'll see. But he used up all of his chances in Washington.

EDIT to add that biggest need now is a depth left winger. I'd still be good with trading Eller for the right pieces, because Connor McMichael needs to play, and he needs to play center, not wing.

Also, as much as I like Backstrom, I hope he's out for the entire year if he's going to miss a significant chunk of the season. Working him back in March would be tough, and that sounds like it's a best-case scenario. And the Caps could use the extra cap space if Backstrom stays on LTIR.

Caps add Charlie Lindgren from St. Louis to complete their GK unit. Don't know a ton about him other than he's only played 29 games in a six-year career.

I enjoy Micah's analysis. Interesting one on Kuemper.
