A guy losing an endorsement contract of a few million is a little overblown in the media when he signed for nine figures with a league. But it does make Bryson look a little silly since he wanted to be his mad-scientist self with Bridgestone R&D. One of the great fringe benefits of Bryson bolting to the take the money is that we shouldn't get anymore stories for a while about how he's trying to change the game, blah blah blah.

He's on the board of the OWGR but refused questions on LIV's application for world ranking points. So many men with conflicts of interest on that board, if they all recused themselves for the LIV vote then there wouldn't be anyone left to vote.

One of the Palm Beach post writers had a blow out q&A with Norman, and it is pretty interesting how he consistently downplays the whole Saudi Arabia thing.

I really wonder if the golf world's reaction to LIV would have been different if its main sponsor had been some nutso American or European zillionaire rather than the Saudis. Supposed Elon Musk was crazy about golf instead of Twitter and Norman had sold him a bill of goods (would have saved Elon some serious coin). Would we then see the reaction of the PGA and DP Tours as that of businesses threatened by a new competitor instead of some moral stance? I have no idea, but there's no doubt in my mind all LIV has done for Saudi Arabia is remind people how much they hate it.

I think if it had been, say, Mark Cuban, the Tours would have been in a much tighter bind. The Saudi outrage has bought the Tours time to figure out a counterattack. And the golf media might have given someone like Cuban a fairer shake than Norman, who they know has been full of shit for decades.

And who has been on a three-decades-plus push to F with the Tour.

You ever think whether the gene
Anyone wonder whether the LIV 54 hole format harkens back to the ‘85 majors? Ok low blow….but still….just sayin…..

The best moves the Saudis could make are 1. Shitcan Norman and replace him with somebody more acceptable in GolfWorld. 2. Go to 72 hole tournaments. Then it would be more difficult, not impossible, but more difficult, for the R&A and USGA to alter THEIR rules to benefit the PGA and DP Tours. The more it looks like an AFL-NFL situation than an attempted revolution led by Norman, the lower their profile will get.

I can tweak the wording for spots into the majors in about 10 minutes and the best thing is, we’ll only have to deal with Sergio’s petulant behavior once a year.

I could be wrong, but I get the feeling that LIV opponents realize if anyone ever tells them to sit down and be quiet, they'll always have, "But ... but ... the Saudis!"

In fact, I could see one Rory McIlroy doing that.
