The rule doesn't apply in the final minutes of a game -- it is treated like a common foul to stop the clock

"Hey, no we REALLY LOVE YOU!, it was just business, you understand right??"

By Friday, after PHX matches, Ayton demands trade.

    Yeah, Suns have to match.

They'll be very happy if they can unload him in a Durant trade. It's going to be complicated but I think they'll find a way.

EDIT: Just realized the Suns can't trade Ayton until mid-January if they match and he has an automatic no-trade for one season. They're screwed.

Once and yet again, being a Pacer fan is the torment of mediocrity.

The more I think about this the more I marvel at how the Suns seem to have fucked this up.

I thought it was stupid not to offer Ayton the extension before the season started. Clearly Monty doesn't like him and his teammates seem lukewarm on him at best. I can understand not wanting to pay him the max. At some point, though, they had to do it -- he's a former first overall pick and he can play, even if he is inconsistent and has work ethic issues.

I think the Pacers were trying to force the Suns into a sign and trade and the Suns wouldn't do it. So.. the Suns get Ayton at $33 mil a year and probably killed their shot at getting Durant. They just going to run it back for another second round exit?

If they can’t beat a team with Powell and Bertans at 5, they aren’t beating the Ws.

Paul George’s face should be their permanent logo. Good enough, but never good enough.
