President Biden: The NEW one and only politics thread

The guy is actuallly saving them from themselves. We just printed a 9.1 percent CPI. The amount of additional spending those idiots are talking about is akin to pouring gasoline on a fire. The runaway inflation was caused by rapid debt monetization of the trillions they got through with the pandemic as an excuse. More of that = poor people get destroyed as the price of milk runs away from them. Less of that and interest rates keep rising and they can't find buyers for the treasuries they would need to sell to keep living in fantasy land.

 

The problem isn't with the Constitution, which in its current incarnation applies to every citizen of every ethnicity.

The problem is that people encouraged the court to take on a legislative role when the actual legislative process wasn't moving quickly enough (or at all) to achieve social goals that many people wanted. They took an ends justifies the means approach, threw our separation of powers way out of whack, and set us up for what we have today. With that barn door opened, over the subesequent decades the court has taken more and more of that kind of power, serving as a 9-person unelected legislature that has delved into more and more things that have zero to do with the actual Constitution that is supposed to guide the cases they take on.

The people -- like Seidman -- complaining right now about the harm the court is doing weren't complaining when Warren Burger was running the court and doing exactly what they don't like today, except with social goals that they favor.
