When the LIV tour folds the PGA will take all those assholes right back.

I could be wrong but I'm not sure. I know he's no fan of liberals, but I'm still trying hard to not equate that with being a Trumpist.

I don't dive into the social media comment cesspool too often, but from what I've seen this announcement has hit golf fans differently than almost all of the player announcements. Just a general sadness. Players are a selfish lot by nature -- it's hard to get to the top of the mountain otherwise -- but this is the guy who talked to you in your living room on weekends for 25 years plus his Golf Channel talk show. I saw Feherty's live show when it came through my town years ago and he was warm, profane and hilarious.

This isn't a life-and-death decision -- Feherty knows the difference all too well -- but it just feels stranger than perhaps anything else so far with LIV.

Sounds about right. Could totally see someone who lucked his way into being a highly paid circus clown thinking others should pull themselves up by their bootstraps so he can have lower taxes.

I never met a person who "wasn't a fan of liberals" who didn't vote for Trump.

    Twice.

Feherty is probably getting more money than ANY NBC sportscaster makes to go LIV. It isn't just the golfers. LIV is paying ludicrous (relatively) sums to snaffle up administrative personnel, many retired, from the Tours. One of the summer starters at my Cape Cod course is a winter starter at Doral, and he says any employee at the club who's been picked to be part of the LIV title tourney there is getting like a 400 percent bump in salary to do that instead. Whoever is running the thing (I doubt Norman is), sees Feherty as their John Madden. All they need now is a US broadcasting outlet besides YouTube. Hard to get that at most country club grill rooms.

I listened to some podshowcast thing yesterday evening and Barkley was on talking about LIV.

He said Norman called, asked to meet. Barkley said they're having dinner Wednesday in Atlanta. Also said he didn't know anything going on, wanted to listen, didn't know if TNT or his current sponsors (Cap One, ATT, etc.) would drop him or anything else.

He said "I have no problem with LIV" and wants to hear what they say. TNT contract runs for three more years. Sounds like if they paid him a shitload of money and bought out the contract(s) he would make the move. Maybe.

If they snag Barkley, this will accelerate LIV getting a TV contract.

Maybe LIV gets Barkley and a TNT deal.

The LIV Tour makes me tbhink of celebrities cashing in doing TV ads in Japan or elsewhere - just not in the US so they don't "sully" their image. Can't wait for those awkward interviews with Crown Prince MBS on the 18th - "Well, Prince, this was another great event, nice to see you here with your wives and henchmen. Why was it important fowhr your family to get involved with the LIV Tour?
"Well, our country is a proud country. And we have a lot of money - A LOT OF MONEY, and we thought, what is one way we can raise our profile, airbrush some unfortunate misunderstandings people have of us and we KNEW golfers wouldn't have a problem taking our money, given some of the sponsorship on the PGA Tour, so we thought it was a great fit!"
