And after I posted that. ... dollar index started climbing. ... Christine Lagarde has been talking people down in her conference -- they raised caus ethey have no choice, now she is trying to sound dovish to try to prevent spreads on Italian / Greek / Spanish bonds from widening in a panic.

Way late, but if this is where I think it is, they sold half the building to a fortune-teller.

Which brings up a question about the voodoo aspects of dollars and sense. I looked for some informed projections on this but could not find anything beyond cultbusters type reports on how prosperity gospel-type operations are faring. Can the health of faith-based organizations still be seen as an indicator of overall fiscal well-being? Anything Christian has been big business here for so long.

It isn’t. This is Green Springs Highway on the Birmingham-Homewood line.

Reuters reports Hyundai employed children as young as 12 at Alabama metal stamping plant.

Probably just as escorts in the executive dining room.

Story link: Exclusive: Hyundai subsidiary has used child labor at Alabama factory - It was a Hyundai-owned subsidiary, that used a staffing agency, but I'm not sure that should absolve them of the blame anyway. Large corporations are using agencies like this in an attempt to insulate themselves from the "perils" of hiring.

To be fair, they cranked up "The Immigrant Song" in the plant to help pass the time.

And now there's a new Hyundai slogan: "So easy, even a child can build one!"

No wonder they think 12 year olds should be forced to give birth. “If she’s old enough to fabricate a Sonata, she’s old enough to be a mama.”

I love my home but it makes it so incredibly fucking hard to do so.

I guess 12 is the age of consent for more than one thing in Alabama.

So true. Lovely state, many fine people - but it's a political cesspool, full of the worst possible ideas and policy.
