unfortunately Catholics, Mormons, Presbyterians, Baptists, are all just sects of Christianity. They all share many common traits. As they do with Judaism and Islam. One of which is the oppression of women, making them less than men and subservient to men. They are all adamant that women have no sex life outside of marriage and before marriage. It's not just reproduction but completely controlling the sex lives of women. Some Christian sects allow women preachers, non-Orthodox Jews allow for women rabbis, but they still seek to control the sex lives of women. And while I'm not overly familiar with Eastern and Asian religions, they don't seem to place women on equal status of men. You don't see a lot of female Buddhist monks. Its unenlightened human nature to seek to control women for male sexual gratification and reproduction.

Did you ever notice that the populations that are the least religious are the most liberal and have the highest standard of living, the Scandinavian Countries, the Germanic Countries, the Dutch, the French.

Exactly. Short of a Constitutional Amendment, anything Congress passes is getting shot down by this current court. The only hope is if Thomas kicks off (not advocating he die but it’s the only way one of the conservatives is leaving right now and he’s the oldest) and the question comes up with a four-liberal-justice court. Roberts might side with them over the others. Even then, that’s a stretch.

There’s not a chance those get overturned. They have too much benefit to the conservatives and they only seem hell bent on limiting social liberties not legal ones. Baker is too powerful of a tool for conservatives to not have in their pocket.

If you throw out Mapp and Miranda, you have to throw out all incorporation cases. All of a sudden, states can pass laws forbidding prayer on a football field and the court is stuck. They may limit those but not overturn them.

They gave Kennedy shit for having the Pope on the 1960s version of speed dial. Today's Pope wants nothing to do with this lot of mackerel snappers.

Y'all wanna join in on an electronic version of the Know Nothing Party, knock yourselves out. I have a hard time squaring that inclination with the posture of the sophisticate, but y'all do y'all. I'm still scratching my head over the assertion that if one is religious, he/she cannot have arrived at any respectable position re: the Constitutionality of abortion other than "Let 'er rip, tater chip," but then again there's a lot I scratch my head over.

It is a religious position unto itself.

There's been a lot of secular religious assertions in the last decade or so.

I'd pay good money to watch Matt Gaetz get the shit kicked out of him by a biker gang on national TV.

Where would we find the biker gang? They’re all in his klan.
