Re: The absolutely Zero Tolerance abortion opponents— those who think a woman can’t have an abortion even if the pregnancy won’t result in a live birth but will result in her death. These people often justify their views with the God’s will argument.
Are they opposed to surgery to remove a lethal brain tumor? Of course not.

Yes. Why drag religion into this at all?

Originalism ("they didn't have condoms in 1787") is just a Trojan horse for right-wing agendas.

It's Matt Gaetz. They'll do it for sport.
And let's throw Hawley in there, too.

Our policies are designed to ensure we meet the needs of our patients and customers while respecting the religious and moral beliefs of our team members," the spokesperson said. "The instances are rare, however when a team member has a moral or religious conviction about completing a transaction, they are required to refer the customer to another employee or manager on duty who will complete the transaction, which is what occurred in this instance."

This begs the question: What if every clerk in the store is a Trumpist pseudo Christian who feels the same way?
Another question: Do these people ever refuse to sell alcohol on the same grounds?

Slap $5 on the counter and say, "Ring it up or pocket it; doesn't matter to me," and walk out the door with your item.

Works great until you set off the alarm, get accosted by security, arrested by the police and have to hire a defense attorney.

“OK, my religion says that you don’t want to sell to me, I can take it anyways for free.”

    Chaos continues.

I'm on a streak of free auto maintenance.

Took my car in three weeks ago with a low tire pressure light on (and an obviously low driver-side front tire). They take it off, find a big screw in it, patch it and put it back on.
"No charge. Have a nice day."

Took the car this morning (yes, Sunday!) to have a passenger-side mirror installed (after I broke the original at the Sonic drive-in). They take off the old one, install the new one, make sure the electrical stuff functions. "No charge, although you can slip the guy something if you want. Have a nice day." So I gave the tech guy the $10 I had on me.

I think I've died and gone to car-repair heaven.

Load your cart up with items. Include several expensive ones. Bring a lot of coupons as well. Let the clerk ring them all up. Then tell them you are not buying these things based on their religion. Walk out.
