I wonder what the Cardinals would have to give.

I'd assume it would have to start with Jordan Walker and Matt Liberatore, their top two prospects, but it the Nationals would have to be getting more. Walker is legit, the No. 6 prospect in baseball according to MLB's rankings.

Walker for sure. I have read that the Nationals do not care for Liberatore. I imagine Gorman will be included. Maybe O'Neil? None the less, it will be a big haul.

I truly hope Soto remains in the National League. I also wonder what kind of haul the Red Sox are gonna get for Boegarts and JD Martinez. They have no shot at the WS this year and have proven adept at knowing when to fold 'em. Hopefully they get some returns that will allow them to build a future that doesn't involve Bobby Dalbec and Frenchy Cordero. Those guys have gotten long enough looks and are simply not improving.

Wasn't it Jerry Glanville that once said the NFL stands for "Not For Long"?.

    That's really every sport

It's been this kind of season for the Giants.

The Guardians went with a bullpen day in Boston last night, throwing Brian Shaw out there to start. It was his first start after 733 appearances, the most appearances before a first start in the history of baseball.

Hoyt Wilhelm only made 52 starts, and had at least 361 relief appearances before pitching for the Indians and Orioles in 1958, when he started 10 times. One of those starts happened to be a no-hitter against the Yankees on the day I was born.

Wilhelm was almost 30 when he finally broke into the big leagues, and pitched until he was almost 50. Yesterday marked his 100th birthday.

    I like Hoyt Wilhelm.

He finally got back at Boston for being traded for Sherman Douglas.

Yeah and I think they’re about to become sellers instead of buyers.

Julio Rodriguez’s wrist must be feeling better. He hits a leadoff HR upon his return to the Mariners lineup last night, then belts a three-run homer in the seventh today to give Seattle a sweep of Texas.

Let’s see how he and his teammates do against the two best AL teams on this upcoming road trip. Looking forward to watching it!
