    Agreed. This mix isn't working.

Look around at the teams kicking butt this year; they're primarily (1) young, (2) athletic, and (3) star-studded.

The Giants are the exact opposite on each count. They've got mid 30's guys who are creaky, and no longer/never been stars. (Aside from Webb and Rodon). Having a former #2 overall pick strikeout at a .500 clip is just brutal.

This bunch is mostly placeholders for some of the prospects that are arriving in a season or two. They caught lightning in a bottle last season and raised a lot of hopes. I wonder how long folks will be happy with a team that's treading water, though.

They basically were banking on their old guys to return healthy and producing like last year (or at all in Longo’s case). And they surrounded them with a bunch of discount DH’s who can’t play defense.

Part of that is their prospects are behind where they ought to be. Bart isn’t as advertised. Ramos should be here by now but isn’t. And the list goes on. Their touted farm system isn’t producing and Farhan’s magic looks like it was spent last year.

If you are not a Red Sox fan, their defensive ineptitude borders on comedy.

Unvaccinated -- as far as we know -- Andrew Benintendi from Royals to NYY. He brings back the sort of empty haul we've come to expect in most of these deals: three pitchers in ≤ A+.

I was complaining to my dad yesterday that it seems like the Dodgers have a star at every position. Why can’t the Giants?

Unvaccinated. Yankees only have three more games in Toronto, barring a playoff matchup

Sikkema was going to be a 40-man roster decision because he is Rule 5 eligible this winter.

The Yankees have made a point of using guys like that in trades the past couple seasons when they knew they didn't have a spot and were going to lose them for nothing.

Hopefully that means the last of Joey Gallo this year.

I've seen Beck Way since high school. He's going to be a rotation guy for the Royals before long.
