The deaths are still pretty astonishing. At this point, I don't know what you do about that outside of some sort of cure, but I remember early on when at least some of us were floored by several hundred in a day, and two and half years later it's still more than 400.

 

That's a fair point. I suppose I was musing more about the case numbers, which are so undercounted that they're sort of meaningless.
