It's Roman numeral 54, to signify how many holes they play in their events.

Appropriating the numerals of obscenely wealthy, bloodthirsty Roman emperors.

    How very Caligula.

What Jamal Khashoggi was not permitted to do after entering the consulate in Istanbul?

When the LPGA is clowning your 54 hole format, you've been owned. Try again.

I don't follow F1 or soccer closely so someone may correct me, but seems like Saudi money has assimilated itself there and life has gone on. (I'm sure there are protesters but they're not going to stop sports from playing.) I think that's what the Saudis want here, not necessarily to keep operating a golf tour in 10 years but to do it for enough years that the PGA Tour has to bend at some point and take on LIV as a partner. If LIV gets a TV deal for next year and a few more decent players after the FedEx playoffs or Presidents Cup, the 14-event schedule with fixed teams the whole way could be a compelling product -- and they'll be deliberately scheduling away from majors and the better Tour events just like this year, which makes it easier to get traction. So if there are then measurable TV ratings that show LIV beating the Rocket Mortgage Classic (or coming close), the Tour is going to have to do something.

Again. There’s no way that LIV is still functioning after next year.
With basically no online presence…..no tv network will touch them……they are basically giving away tickets at events and can’t draw hardly anyone.
Eventually, Saudi Inc. will say “Ok Greg. The time of donation is over. Find a network. Find a big corporate partner or something.”

As a soccer fan, the thing about the oil states owning PSG, Man City and Newcastle (and Abramovich owning Chelsea) is that it works. Fans have positive feelings toward those countries.

I just don’t get it with LIV — everyone hates the suits who are interviewed in fawning fashion by Nantz. I don’t see how people are going change their opinion around the Saudis because they have an alternative tour.
