I just found both the flashback and current day plots to be incomprehensible and silly.

They don’t seem to understand the double entendres were only funny when they came about organically and only once in a blue moon.

Paper Girls S1, Amazon - Very nifty little show! Kind of like an R-rated cross between Stranger Things and Back To The Future. Based on a comic, the show is about four 12-year-old paper girls who accidentally get transported from 1988 to 2019.The four leads are all strong actors, and the story twists between the friction of their relationships and the science fiction of the situation. Most of the cast is newcomers, but Ali Wong and Jason Mantzoukas are both stellar in multi-episode roles.

Don't quit. It's outstanding. Although, like you, I wish directors would just shoot in natural light and make things easy to watch instead of all that sepia-toned bullshit.

Murphy Brown was fantastic, made me even skip MNF at times but check her out as a covergirl before then, wow.
