Wow, such a range. $700? Or $800 million.

There's a big difference between the Saudis or Gulf States owning soccer teams in Europe and the LIV. Those franchises were already there, with their own histories and generations of a loyal fan base. As we saw today at Browns training camp, morals matter less in that situation than winning or losing. Golf's different. Who cares who won the LIV event in Bedminster (in all honesty, I have no idea who did). Who cares if Dustin Johnson is way richer than he used to be?

Why the fucking hell does Norman think telling the world that Tiger turning down $700-800 million reflects well on his league?

Isn't it the exact opposite? "Tiger won't touch our league for anything!"

The money is meaningless to TW. The number could have been 700 billion, and it wouldn’t have changed.

Henrik Stenson was your winner but don’t ask who won the team event

I think that the Saudis (and by that I mean mainly MBS*) are staking their bets that the loud right-wing vulgarians are going to have more sway than the “We are the World” singing, too concerned about everyone’s feelings to really get organized left-leaners. Sadly, that might not be a bad strategy.

*MBS not paying any real price for turning Jamal Kashoggi into stew meat hasn’t helped curb his ambitions. Trump and Trumpists wish they had the power and money to behave just as ruthlessly.

You are a gigantic shit head if you support the LIV tour in any way, shape or form. Even if just for "page views".
    Ipso facto.

So you just think the media should ignore this. And it shouldn't be bantered about on a sportswriter message board. OK.

One could make a comparison of LIV and the Berlin Olympics.

Imagine Tiger, knowing he doesn't need the cash just wanting to see how high the Saudis will go, and being able to claim moral superiority over Phil. The higher they went, the better Tiger looks.

Brandon chants, MTG and Tucker, Ivana's grave all at Bedminster.

Can't buy that kind of publicity, I tell you.
