And Rick Moranis as Dick Cavett was a joy to watch.
Especially when he's up against immortal gasbag Bobby Bittman.

 

I know Letterkenny has it's hardcore fans but to me it's nothing more than an attempt to replicate the success of Trailer Park Boys in northern Ontario. I will say this, the hockey players are easily the best part of it. I spent a dozen years working in junior hockey and they perfectly capture that dopey, self-centred, small town Jr. A donkey teenager I saw so much of in those days.

 

Imagine those same donkeys to the Southern U.S. Now you know what working in the ECHL is like.

 

Very true. Those donkeys grow up to be ECHL or SPHL players and they never grow up.

 

Have never seen Trailer Park Boys. From the imdb description, I really don’t wanna. I laugh at the hockey guys on Letterkenny (“Fuck you, Shoresy!”) but the hicks (Wayne, Daryl and Squirrelly Dan) make me laugh even more. And Katy, the sister? Wow. (Or as the denizens say, “YEW!”)

 

My husband was just telling someone about this the other day. He will be happy to see this.

Some? Sure.

But others still harbor the dream of making good money to play a game for a living. The guess here is that some know they're delaying the professionally inevitable for another year or two and will hang on.

Not much different than other professional athletes.

 

I worked with plenty of guys who went this route, not because they still had dreams of playing in the NHL - or even the AHL or the top European leagues - but because they didn't know what else to do with their lives.
