President Biden: The NEW one and only politics thread

As much as I realize this sentence is completely out of proportion with the crime committed, I've been really irritated by the people who are saying she deserved it because she disrespects America.

One, nobody has proof she disrespected America. She protested against what is happening in America. Big difference.

Two, even if she DID disrespect America, it has absolutely nothing to do with this trial or this sentence.

 

She's not a prisoner, she's a hostage.

 

Not too far off if not right on the nose.

 

There is something really wrong with the Democratic Party. I get the sense that they spend all of their time watching Fox News and believe every word and figure everyone else does as well. The Republican party has no problem living/acting in a world of their own reality, and the Dems don't seem to trust reality, out of fear that they'll scare off those voters who may watch Fox News and vote the Dems way on occasion.

I feel terrible for her and her family, she’s definitely being used as a hostage. And she has every right to protest the American justice and racial system. But Russia did mistake her for a celebrity that America cares about.

 

And now she’s right where Trumpists want her. No matter the deal that Biden makes, Trumpists will say the price is too high because Amurrrica shouldn’t be accepting a drug user back into its borders.
I’m curious if nine years for drug possession is SOP in Trumpists’ favorite country or this is way out of whack. I sort of expect draconian sentences — particularly for LGBTQ women — in many corners of the globe.

 

America has more crime

 

The Uyghurs want a word. As do those under 'pre-trial' and 'administrative' detention.

And the political prisoners.

And the disappeared.
