And into the lake of fail, I go. I missed Norm.

Really? Dave Casper must be pleased to have been credited with those 14 yards from the Holy Roller play against the Chargers.

Stabler ran for 101 yards in his first full season as a starter, and then, over the next 11 years, never finished a season with positive rushing yards. That also may be a record.

I wonder if Bobby Douglass holds the opposite record: Most rushing yards per victory?

Pretty sure sacks counted as negative rushing yards back then since sacks were not counted as a stat at the time.

True, which calls into question the rushing stats. Luckman gets dropped for a four yard loss. Was he trying to pass? Or was he trying to run? Either way, I messed up by missing van Brocklin.

Looking up how many USFL Hall of Famers there now are (9) got me going down another rabbit hole on the league's stats.

    1) What player is the USFL's all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns?

    2) What quarterback holds the league record for pass attempts and completions?

    3) What quarterback finished as the USFL's career leader in passing yards and touchdowns? It's not the same guy as question No. 2.

A hint: None of these guys are among the nine Hall of Famers.

A QB who did not end up as HOFer is Doug Flutie. Only one I can think of.

Is Bobby Hebert one of the QBs?

I’d go Anthony Carter for WR.

I read the Pearlman book awhile ago and think these are decent answers but likely wrong.

    1. I’ll guess Eric Truvillion. Anthony Carter would be my second guess.

    2. John Reaves?

    3. Bobby Hebert?

One of the QBs has got to be Chuck Fusina.

And the other is probably Jim Kelly.
