Robert Hanssen and Aldrich Ames got sent to Florence for similar things. For national security reasons, he's going to need to be locked away somewhere that his bleatings can go no further than the prison walls.

I feel that’s a greatest hit, it never left the repertoire.

 

All of this seems really bad. But so have 50 other things over the last seven years.

Until the majority of the party cuts ties with him, nothing will change.

 

This would be a lot different than getting tried by a jury of 100 Senators concerned with how their vote would affect their careers in trials without witnesses.

Rikers is a city jail, also will be closed down in the next five years. But I agree with the sentiment.

 

For perspective, you remember when one of the Republican congressmen, Nunes or Gaetz, someone like that, got his nose all out of joint because they wouldn't allow him to take his phone into a SCIF, a secure documents handling room? Or maybe he forced his way inside with one, don't remember the details. Anyhow, TS/SCI files are only supposed to be handled or talked about under that sort of security. The idea that they've either been in an unlocked (eventually padlocked) storage room by the MAL pool or even in Trump's crackerbox safe in his office has to give the counterintelligence guys hives.

It's a big, big deal. They guys who say "If it were me I'd be in jail", well, one, they would never ever ever see them, and two, if somehow they had, they'd be grabbed and interrogated within an inch of their lives.

 

Every one of them looks at what happened to Liz Cheney and is terrified for their careers.

And the “reasonable right” still tries to play the “Sure Trump is bad, but man can you believe what a crazy leftist Joe Biden is” game?

They let this happened. They allied with the “Obama is a secret Muslim who wants to destroy America” crowd because it helped win elections, and they’re still unwilling to rip the band aid off.
