I don't know about additional storylines -- maybe just a little additional editing.

Was that Jon Favreau as the U.S. Attorney?
It sure looked like him but I don't see him or the character listed in any episode credits.

Wow just one comment? Out with a whimper?

I didn't feel like it was a great finale as I watched, though I have a higher opinion this morning as it sits in my head. I appreciate the logic of the where the story ended up. But too much of the last episode was about knocking down a not-particularly-resonant strawman, which was that even in these supposedly soul-baring conversations in the past with Mike and with Walter White, Jimmy/Saul only cared about money. I didn't buy that this was true to the character; I felt like those scenes were only there to set up his final turn.

But I like that the last episode delivered a sense of romance while still holding the character accountable for all its misdeeds. It's smarter than, say, the original Star Wars trilogy, where Darth Vader does all these horrible things, but in the end is redeemed because he, um, doesn't kill his son. Jimmy didn't kill Carol Burnett, and he finally sees the light, but still faces the consequences.

I liked the final little detail that his prison work—watching the bread machine whirl—was basically the same as his life as the Cinnabon manager.

Yeah, a whimper. Got some of the closure — the scene with Mike and regrets was good. But, overall, meh. I’ll eat vegetables for a while to get some of those hours of my life back on the backend.

What were you expecting? Jimmy to get into a shootout with the Nebraska police?

I thought it was reasonably well done and was glued to the TV up until the courtroom scene. Whyd he do that? Didnt feel earned at all. Was definitely a whimper for me

I really enjoyed the show as a whole but the early seasons moreso. Not one of the great series finales by a longshot

The realization that Kim actually called his bluff and confessed to their meddling with Howard - and exposed herself to consequences by doing so - "knocked" him out of Saul mode and back into Jimmy. He purposely tanks his deal in an effort to protect her, and also in an attempt to regain her respect. Throughout the episode, he's also thinking back to conversations with three people - Chuck, Mike and Walter - who don't really repent or change, and Jimmy is aware of what happened to all three of them. He loses his freedom, but saves his soul.

The one thing I really liked about last night was that, true to form, Jimmy/Saul was going to blow himself up. Somehow, someway.

Kim was protected if he took the deal. Hes got 86 and Howard’s widow’s still coming for her. Him saying she wasnt involved does nothing on front, else Howard’s widow insists on perjury for Kim’s false afidavit

I do like the explanation that Walt and Chuck never changed. Walt saying you were always like this after the slippin Jimmy story was a nice touch

I had that exact same reaction when I got on here this morning!

I thought for sure I'd find all sorts of chatter, and the only thing n here was a question about who played the U.S, attorney.

I found it to be a really satisfying ending, and, well, it's kind of like commenting on an excellent episode of a sitcom. I don't have much to add except to say, "Wow, that was really good!" That seems to be the general consensus of two FB groups I'm in about pop culture / TV. With the final season, they went with a really tight focus on the main characters left - Jimmy/Saul/Gene, Kim, Howard, Lalo - and only introduced three more folks in Nebraska. The final few episodes saw the return of pretty much anyone vaguely prominent and still alive from Breaking Bad (Marie noticeably not in purple, Francesca, Bill Oakley). It's a pretty tight knot they made, without much room to speculate about what happened to the mouse.
