For those of us not living in a cartoon world that is defined by your narrative. ... nope, the "solution" isn't 'well, yeah, some electric cars, and solar panels.'

First, your unprecedented carbon emissions slowdown. ... is about as stupid as the guy who sees two snowfalls in November in Dallas and makes a broad-brushed conclusion. Over time (and the effects we are seeing appear t obe the result of decades of behavior), no. ... carbon emissions have increased dramatically. So for example (and I have no clue if this is what you are talking about), a global pandemic hits and we see a decrease in carbon emissions because the world effectively shuts down. ... but a year later when we are seeing heat, drought and other weather events that have likely been caused (to a large degree) by human behavior over time. ... and you roll your eyes and do the, "See, it's not what 'they' told me." The idea that we decreased carbon emissions a little for a short time and it didn't have an immediate effect is indicative of what? It also was caused by a pandemic, done involuntarily. ... it was not a permanent decrease in carbon emissions.

Also, the EV, solar panel narrative is stupid. I can have a reasonable discussion with someone about solar energy, for example, its costs relative to the fossil fuel alternatives, our ability to practically adopt it on a mass scale to meet our energy needs, how reliable it might be, the up front infrastructure costs and how they would get paid, the disruptions it might or might not entail, etc.

What is kind of undeniable, though, is that the path we are on appears to be having a dramatic -- and more ominous -- effect on our environment. If we could (and did) replace all of the carbon-emitting fuel usage in the world with solar energy? Rhe odds are overwheming that there would be measurable effect from it. Over time, based on our knowledge (not religious belief), we could expect temperatures to cool, the growing season to extent, more humidity, more vegetation growth. ... which would hopefully make the earth more friendly to us. Hell, the solar panels themselves might lower the earth's temperature in a measurable way, because less solar radiation would be asborbed by the earth as we capture more and convert it into energy. All things being equal, at least.

But "well, yeah. ... solar panels."

Which again is my point. You are being dismissive, painting outliers as an irrational mainstream, creating your narratives. ... and, it's religion. But no, it's not.

Took my wife about 10 seconds after we had our system installed to change the settings to Celsius.

26.5 in the summer, 21.5 in the winter. Whatever.

    Epistle to the Kansans

'Fret not the benzene in thine groundwater
nor the drawdown of the whole Ogallala
    aquifer

' For several sundry jobs have been created
    at the wellheads
    for the roughnecks

'And the lease for the pump
might pay into the next decade
    before the hole goes dry.'

Benzene in the ground water? Well, at least Kansas didn't sell the aquifer to the Saudis the way the Arizona R's did. Won't be long until the Saudis are selling that water back to them, at a generous profit of course.

The Plunder of Our Water Supply Has Already Begun

Add that the alfalfa that the Saudis are growing and shipping home to feed their cows is an extremely water intensive crop.

How does one go about selling an aquifer to a foreign country? Voters approved this?
