Have you ever met a newspaper (or journalist, for that matter) who wasn't "award winning?"

 

Like, how is that not in violation of any number of previous laws? My work involves a state agency and they have to keep every email / communication due to FOIL.

 

Went and voted, was surprisingly busy relatively speaking for my precinct. Old white guy, maybe Scottish but definitely had an accent, had finished voting and was putting his ballot in the machine. So in Florida we use paper ballots that you mark because we all remember the hanging chad debacle of 2000. So anyway, you check in. They give you your ballot so we know that we've been given a ballot. It's in the electronic record. Then you put your anonymous ballot in the machine that counts it. He was incredibly upset that he didn't get a receipt out of that machine. He said there was no proof that he voted and that's how fraud happens. Where the f*** did these people come from? We've been voting like this forever. You vote, your name's not attached to it, but the ballot is there. It exists. The worst thing the Republicans have done over the last 30 years is convince a certain percentage of Americans that every time you vote, everyone cheats.
