The iPod Touch was only discontinued a few months ago. Finding one in a physical store is another matter altogether.

I prefer using a Touch when working out and listening while working on the assembly line.

Whoa. Bad for Twitter management, good for Elon Musk. Potentially good in the long run for Twitter users. Excellent work by the Washington Post team here.

I was hoping there would still be some in physical stores. The local Target still had a price point for one in a display case. Sadly, that was a dry hole too.
Ended up ordering one online. It's supposed to get here tomorrow. Cost $419 for a 32GB 7th Generation. A bit more than I was hoping to pay (I was hoping for closer to $300), but for a brand new one it's reasonable.

They really should've marketed the device as a starter phone for young teens whose parents wouldn’t pony up for an iPhone. It seems like a missed opportunity for what was a tremendous product. Slim device that feels amazing in the hand, all the functionality of an iPhone, cheap. It was so great.

I was today years old when I discovered that my cable subscription includes a free year of Peacock Premium.

Couldn’t you get a 64GB old iPhone for cheaper and just use the music app?

Maybe, in hindsight, if I'd thought about it :(

When it comes to electronics, though, I generally like to spend a little extra and buy new if I can. You never know where those other devices have been, how much they've been used and abused, how long they'll last if they're already five or six years old, etc.
Scanning Amazon for 64GB iPhones, there are some refurbished iPhone 8 models in the $200 to $300 range, and then there are just as many in the range I paid for my Touch. Some are older. The range is all over the place.
