Discovered them on a Celtic channel via Accuradio 20 years ago and immediately fell in love with their music. Gwen and I saw them twice in Atlanta -- and they were outstanding live, almost like having a Newfie ceilidh pop up in the middle of the south.

Love so many of their songs, but this one in particular:

One of the great forgotten bands of the late 70s and early 80s: The Little River Band.

They got a little yacht-y with Glenn Shorrock, but John Farnham had some fricking pipes.

One of my Facebook friends posted something about Year of the Cat, which got me thinking about my favorite Al Stewart earworm, which is almost 50 years old:

Eric Clapton and Duane Allman on an old T Bone Walker blues song. Lots of people have covered it over the years - Sam Cooke, Little Walter, Chuck Berry, Van Morrison and more but I love this version. It's just the two of them acoustic, late at night during the Layla sessions with the tape running. Duane's the slide, Eric's the rest of the guitars and vocal.

Back before Motown, Detroit was home to country artists like the York Brothers, whose big hit was Hamtramck Mama
