The tournament he won meant more than money. It was the season-long competition.
And before you rip the FedEx Cup and Tour Championship, remember that the LIV Golf lawyers called it "the Super Bowl of golf," in the court case a few weeks ago.

Didn't understand the complaint that Scheffler started with a two-stroke advantage - it isn't like playoff teams in other sports don't get an advantage with byes and homefield. The bigger rip-off is NASCAR - which should simply be a point per lap lead, plus a 100 point bonus per win. No other points issued.

Also, LIV is a hit-and-giggle event. 54 holes. Signed contracts with up-front money. Rory went out and earned the $18 million. Huge difference.

He's talented, but I can live without the performance art on Twitter (though he's far from the only one in the golf press corps).

There are officially too many athlete logos.

Harold Varner III has his own logo.

At least HV3 doesn’t have to sweat those final rounds now.

You know that's coming very soon. Heard the Golf Channel guys bemoaning that the LIV had ruined the President's Cup by robbing the International team of its best players. There is not now nor ever has been the slightest interest in that event within the general sports public, and precious little among hardcore golf fans. But why not a team competition between the two tours. Talk about bad blood. Boy, I'd watch every shot of that.

I bet Norman and LIV would sign up for that competition anytime, anywhere. But no chance Monahan does it and risk his guys losing. But would love to see one of these hedge-fund billionaires that are supposedly bouncing around golf now just say "I've got $100 million for the winning side, do we have a game?"

So the Globe has just printed a story that I can't access because they refuse to recognize my subscription on the desktop I'm using as my laptop is temporarily indisposed that a family in Lancaster, a town near the International course where LIV has an event this weekend, were having a tented family wedding on their own property that was broken up by the cops who suspected the party were protestors ready to storm the tournament gates, like, five days later. My questions are, how much did the Saudis pay the police chief for following LIV orders, how much will the family get when they sue the town out of its socks and finally, what on earth will the chief and those cops find for their next jobs?
Clarification: Some guests were camping on the family property when the raid took place. It wasn't the actual wedding. Either the Lancaster police are very paranoid or whichever Saudi secret policeman in REAL charge of LIV security sure is.
