I just think they're trying to manufacture another Betty White moment. Along those lines, Patton Oswalt nominated Carol Burnett, although I have no clue if there is still beef between those sides. (I believe Lorne or Michael Donahue hated her show and everyone breaking up constantly.) Ted Danson has only hosted once, in 1989, and he still has his fastball from network sitcoms. Andre Braugher would be awesome, but likely too low celebrity. Odenkirk's health problems probably removed him from consideration in the previous season, but it would be cool to see him just for a "victory lap" kind of appearance. Conan only hosted once, in 2001, and he's got a lot of free time now.

Serena, Al Michaels, Tom Brady (but only if he does during a game week, because he can).

    I approve this message.

re Andre Braugher: After a season where the hosts included Simu Liu, Oscar Isaac and Jerrod Carmichael, I think Braugher can clear the "low celebrity" bar.

Yes and no. Betty White was still working when she hosted Though a sketch showing "outakes" from the old show that they couldn't even put on the DVD due to the offensive nature of what was said or done would be funny. Or just an SNL made up of clasic SNL sketches that would lead to the show being "cancelled" due to insensitive/politically incorrect materieal would if they aired today. Hosted by Jane Curtin.

Seriously, they need to bring back Samuel L. Jackson after the "banned/not banned" stuff in the last year. And has Hader hosted since he left?

Hader hosted in 2014 and 2018.

Carmichael is definitely the lowest profile person they've had that's hosted, yeah. But Shang-Chi made $400M+ at the box office, and Oscar Isaac's IMDB includes lead of a Marvel show, and co-lead roles in an X-Men movie, the latest Star Wars trilogy, and Dune.

That is the night it is no longer appointment television.

If Joe Rogan hosts, I'm boycotting the show until Lorne dies.

Has SNL had a flaming MAGA asshole host since Lorne inexplicably allowed Trump to host, giving him free political advertising during the campaign? I guess Trump was still kind of a joke who could never win at that point, in November of 2015.

I would hope the lesson was learned.
