Cohen is a lot of things - one of them is he has shown baseball fans that owners can elevate a franchise, or be satisfied with sucking. Yes, it's New York - yes, he's richer than most owners and has spent the bread - but it seems like its actually fun again to be a Mets fan.

Let's be honest -- it's fun because they have the third-best record in baseball and as the calendar turns to Sept. they have six more wins than all of last season, a winning record for the first time in three years and a playoff team for the first time since 2016.

Diaz's warm-up song wouldn't be a sensation if they were 10 games under .500 and he was blowing a save per week.

This is ridiculous. So you’re saying, if he wasn’t an elite and blowing a save a week the entrance song would have little effect? No shit, wow learn something new everyday.

Sure looks like they are capitalizing on the fun and making it that much more enjoyable for their fans. I don’t see that everywhere

I smell the jealousy of a Yankee fan.

Jesus, tap. Orioles--coming off a series win in Houston--lose one game and you're ready to pronounce their "fading playoff hopes?" GTFO. They won last night, start September within two games of the final wild card and you're writing them off? Let's see what happens tonight. Then it's three at home against shit-ass Oakland and four at home against Toronto. I'll be in attendance for three of those. Are they likely to snag that last spot? Probably not, but they're not fading yet.

PS -- Orioles' PECOTA projection for 2022 was 61. They already have 68 wins.

PPS -- Cleveland is fun to watch and will be an interesting playoff team.

If the expanded playoffs encouraged a few more teams to simply "not tank" - it's been a success.

Jordan Romano's entrance in T0ronto is pretty cool with the lights and the music but you have to be in the stadium to see it. Sportsnet never shows it.
