Running racism in America thread

It would be nice to think that racist language would get you in as much trouble at BYU as having a cup of coffee or premarital sex.

 

But those are *sins*.

At the time of his death he owned eight slaves. His bones should be dug up and burned. Anyone who bought a crop for which slavery was used should be dug up and burned.

the lesson to be learned is that the USA is a reprehensible country. Ever since the English and Spanish allowed slavery in the Western Hemisphere over 150 years before the country was founded this country has been irreversibly tainted and nothing good can or has ever come from it. And while slavery was the cause of the civil war, the 300,000+ men who died fighting the south did not die to free the slaves.

 

We cannot be better than what we were if we refuse to acknowledge what we were.

 

But not ‘are’.
