Unpopular opinion, but I disagree. We saved our children. We took an unknown mess... age... comorbidity... pre existing... ANYTHING, and said, hold back. Let's figure this out. And while figuring it out some things became clear, others more muddled. It's like a coin at the bottom of a pool. Is it a nickel or a quarter? But the closer to the surface the more clear it becomes. And more coins were being dropped. One can never know how many parents were saved. The failing comes in when we don't say "OK, we were here, but now we're back and things are normal. Period". Or even better "Now we're back and you HAVE to do this". It's the "'la, la' ease back " that's hurting the kids. Youth is resilient.

And our kiddos came out of the pandemic with some issues, but a year of normalcy really helped. We’ve lost learning Sure but mentally the kids are going to be back on track much quicker than we give them credit for.

When we had the Omicron surge, we had so many kids come down with it because of families at home. Some even got pulled out of my room because they tested positive when they got to school. I can’t imagine what the more serious variants would have done to our community.

On the positive side, we finally got people to take the technology gap seriously. So many kids don’t have internet access at home and we are finally doing something about it at the school level. Native Tribes are being connected more. Not as quickly as they need, but the need is being taken more seriously.

I really appreciate this take. And I happen to agree.

Nope, that was your party as long as vaccines became available while Trump was still in office

I humbly submit that you must not spend a lot of time in our country’s mental health system.

And it’s filled just with those kids we can “find.” Never mind the ones who have unreported issues or the ones who just dropped out and disappeared.

You really need to work on your disagreeing style. "Moron" or "cruelty" or "@YankeeFan!" need to be worked in there.
