One addendum to the coaching tiers...

Dennis Allen (Saints) is not a rookie. He spent a little more than 2 years as the head coach of the Raiders and went 8-28 there. I think he belongs on the tier of "one more chance"...

Carrol has the ultimate say on everything.

If only he started coaching like that this year. He chose this.

I have no real idea what this means.

The stuff Sean McVay's doing has been around a long time, too.

McVay was only good when he won the Super Bowl.

Are you trying to tell the game is coached the same as it’s always been? You really haven’t been paying attention if you believe this. It has nothing to with just McVey, which is everyone’s go to when they haven’t paid attention.

Carroll didn't have to really "coach" at USC. He had such good players, they could make plays regardless of what was called. Until they got into a tight spot and didn't make the play.

If Lendale White gains 2 yards instead of 1, the Trojans win the Rose Bowl and the national championship. Wrong call, wrong personnel in the game, White ran to the wrong hole. But those things didn't usually matter. A superior Trojans team could do a lot of things wrong and still gain the 2 yards ... until they didn't.

Carroll had superior personnel in Seattle, too. If Wilson's pass is complete for a touchdown, the Seahawks win the Super Bowl. Wrong call, wrong play, throwing the ball to the wrong person instead of handing it to the right person. etc. etc. etc.

Talent acquisition is a huge part of what a college coach does. The popular take was that anyone could win at USC back then, which subsequent events have disproven.

Passing was fine, the pass play was wrong. They only had one time out and 25 seconds left.

Wilson bailed him out for years when the would finally let him play in the 4th.

I honestly think the Lions could be a near -.500 team. Very good on the lines, they seem to be playing for Campbell and their schedule (includes Bears x2, Jags, Seahawks, Panthers and Giants) is ass. I picked them to finish (a distant) second in the NFC North.

Bears propose domed stadium in Arlington Heights, won't say how much it'll cost or where the money will come from.

The McCaskey family doesn't have another source of revenue besides the team right? And now they have three generations at the trough? 11 kids, 40 grand and great grandkids? Even if you put the team down as collateral and get generous loans - they're going to need help.
