The cop says he didn’t hear anything offensive after he was posted near the bench in response to the claim. That does not mean the whole thing was made up.

We don't agree on most things but I think your last sentence hits the nail on the head. I think the Duke volleyball player just misheard something and it blew up. Her godmother (who isn't a fan of white people) going extreme didn't help.

 

Well, I'm sure that settles the matter.

 

Now BYU is saying that, according to an investigation, it has found no slurs against Duke's volleyball program:
