The Sun Belt should get the consideration that Notre Dame is usually afforded.

And the Mountaineers win straight up at College Station. Good God Almighty, what a wonderful season this has been already.

And Western Carolina's tied with Georgia Tech. When does basketball season start?

I did not/could not watch it, and I guess it's just as well. Can't play South Dakota State every week, although the 'Clones aren't much better.

Iowa has a really good defense, and they knew they needed more firepower on offense after it wilted the second half of last season. So Ferentz and son did what they always do: stay with a quarterback who's awful, watch their potential top receiver escape to Purdue, and try to win every game 7-3. Unfortunately, Iowa State managed one TD and one made FG, and that was enough to claim a soggy Hy-Vee trophy.

Not a great day for the Big Ten Worst division ... the four teams that played FBS schools (all at home) went 1-3. Illinois managed to beat Virginia.

Not soon enough in Atlanta. If rumors are to be believed, Geoff Collins' seat is already plenty hot at Georgia Tech. Losing to the lads from Cullowhee won't help.

Also: Houston in OT for the second straight week. This time vs. Texas Tech.

Continuing with the Sun Belt theme, Georgia Southern is up against Nebraska in Lincoln. Just a wild guess ... Scott Frost's status there will not be enhanced with a loss to a little Sun Belt program.
