How Notre Dame got 35 more points than KU is something I cannot comprehend. Roles should be reversed. I’m only slightly joking.

I really think if Nebraska stuck with Solich, they’d have settled into an Iowa-level program in the Big Ten, which in hindsight they should have taken.

Just a reminder of who fired Solich, saying he failed to
Let the program “gravitate towards mediocrity.”

Anyone have insight into why Frost struggled so much at Nebraska? Lincoln a harder sell than Orlando?

Different class of recruits. . Succeeding in Orlando < anything in the Big Ten.

The demise of Nebraska football, in a nutshell:

    Much tougher league.

    No more criminals.

    No more Prop 48s.

    No more steriods.

Everyone has the facilities they used to be superior in.

    Nebraska now sucks.

    1+2+3+4+ 5 = 6.

I continue to be surprised that they haven't been snatched up by some mega media outlet.

UCF wasn't as pitiful as 2015 would have you believe and Scott Frost took credit for a lot of talent that was there. In 2013 UCF had a great team with Blake Bortles leading the group to 12 wins and a Fiesta Bowl win over Baylor. UCF goes 9-4 with a young team and then a bunch of internal things happen surrounding George O'Leary and coaching raises or something. Long story short is he lost some key parts of the staff left and there was a lot of public anger toward O'Leary losing these guys because he was also the acting AD and refuse to give them bonuses or something. So 2015 was a total mess. O"Leary resigned after an 0-8 start and the rest of the staff was left with no real instruction or direction.

So when Frost came in the following season, he saw there were some real players -- like the Griffin twins and Ta'Quan Smith, Taj McGowan, etc. etc.,. Frost was just smart enough to put those guys on the field. He recruited McKenzie Milton and got some really good transfers in that were Florida HS kids wanting to come back to the state. They got 6-7 and 13-0 and he jetted. Had he stayed I think he'd still be running off 11-12 win seasons because UCF was hot and with the transfer portal coming into light, there were a lot of opportunities.

But a lot of G5 guys get overmatched in the Power 5. Quite a few work out, but some of the real hot names like Satterfield, Norvell, Frost, Fuente...they struggle.

I was checking Nebraska's recruiting - and Rivals had them no worse than the fourth highest class in the conference the last three years, until this most recent class when they fell to 10th. So I'm still confused.
