Thanks. I think most of us prefer six teams. I just wanted to make sure nobody had an objection to me changing it at this point. Anybody else have a thought?

I also heard from the two owners who aren't on SJ.com. Paul prefers six and Chip is good either way. That is more than half the league that is either in favor of the change or at least doesn't have a problem with it. I'll wait until tomorrow to give others a chance to speak up, but probably going to fix it. I really need to write our rules down all in one spot and make sure the league settings fit them at the beginning of the season. Again, thanks for the feedback and understanding.

I just updated the league settings. It is six teams for this season and we will stick with that going forward.

Oop, if you set your league up for auto-renew, I think it will keep the same settings for 2023.

Just a reminder. The trade deadline for our league is Wednesday. That is the default on Yahoo.

I’m still trying to figure out how I finished in first in the regular season.

While everyone is likely still paying attention, I'd like to bring up a couple of the rule changes we've discussed. I would like to make both of these changes for the 2023 draft and season.

    1. Players who went undrafted can be kept the following season, but they would cost a 20th-round pick instead of a selection in the final round. If you keep more than one undrafted player, one of them costs you a round higher, and so on. For example, I have Kyle Wright and Jose Miranda. Neither was drafted. If I kept both, they would cost me my selections in rounds 19 and 20. I would designate which one costs the higher pick.

    2. Add a NA spot. This would primarily be a roster spot for minor leaguers, but it could be used for anybody designated NA. By the way, suspended players cannot be placed in a NA slot. We would add one round to the draft, filling the current active spots and at least one player who is NA-eligible.

    Thoughts?

I’m good with both. My only concern is who will monitor the NA spot? If a guy comes off the IL, Yahoo let’s you float him there until you make a roster change.
Who’s checking to make sure all NA guys are still NA? Or is that even an issue?

If the player is no longer NA, Yahoo won't let you add players until you move him out of the spot. It works just like an IL spot. My other Yahoo league has an NA spot and it works just fine without the commissioner monitoring it. That is part of what made me want to add it for our league. I've seen it not be a problem in that one.
