SkyNews was live-streaming the thousands of people filing past the coffin on YouTube. They said the line has been shut down because of the sheer numbers of people trying to join. People were waiting hours and hours to get in, walk past the coffin and bow to it.

 

Honestly, this is a Ricky Gervais movie waiting to be made. Just waiting in line.Talking about the Queen...before quickly seguing to other topics. Goofing on other people. Maybe a romance blossoms - and another one ends. Being next to some obnoxious person, or a kid having tantrums and allowing people to cut in front of you, but finding no takers.

 

Wife is watching all of this. She told me David Beckham did the line like a regular person, no favors, no preferential treatment. Something like 21 hours in the line. Kudos to him.

That would be correct, it appears. Good for him. If he was trying to lay low, it seems like that would be pretty impossible, what with the tattoos and all. Seems impossible to think that folks would just leave him alone, but here's hoping there was a youngster or someone who got a few minutes.
