Thanks for pointing that out @sgreenwell.

That is such a great picture of Farrell and Alda.

Started watching the series version of What We Do In The Shadows. There is very little material that ties it to the movie. Gosh, I loved the movie. Waititi is the first actor to ever make me say, "Awww!" at a vampire.

There was always a high bar to clear and it's nice to say they cleared it and made me want to see more. On an extremely nerdy note: I KNEW the Baron was Doug Jones as soon as he came out of the coffin. This show will be my TV happy place for a few weeks.

For WWDITS, there is eventually some crossover, but I can't remember if its the S1 or S2 penultimate or finale episodes. Just Easter eggs, but hilarious.

I think Alda, Farrell, Jamie Farr, Gary Burghoff, Jeff Maxwell (Igor) and Loretta Swit are all that’s left

Loved the story Farrell told of being freaked out when the ratings dropped after Wayne Rogers left the show. William Christopher told him "Don't worry about it, they'll be back - they'll checkout the other new shows but they'll be back." And of course the audience did return.

Should be noted Ken Burns’ latest, The US and the Holocaust, begins tonight and also airs Monday and Tuesday

Not to dismiss the Holocaust at all, but imagine if there were no Nazis and no Holocaust - what would political opponents use to insult their opponents? Napoleon? Stalin? The US treatment of Native Americans or slaves?

So there is going to be a sixth (and final PRAISE BE!) season of The Handmaid's Tale. I'll miss the evil charms of Ann Dowd and Yvonne Strahovski, seeing Sweet Janine navigate their mean old world, Samira Wiley being Samira Wiley, and Bradley Whitford making some deeply weird acting choices. Sunnuva... This feels like the television equivalent to having a bad boyfriend you can't quit.

In other TV stuff: Matt Berry was the only person I recognized in WWDitS until the baron showed up. Nadja and Guillermo are my spirit animals. I'm still chuckling about Gregor-Jeff asking Nadja for her phone number after she told him what her ideal date would be like.

Berry is outstanding in everything, like that run of British comedies he was in. He and Jason Mantzoukas were in an Adult Swim pilot that wasn't picked up - Berry as a pompous reporter, Zouks as his cameraman - that probably would have been incredible if given a full run. He's also the voice of a droid in "Boba Fett," which seems an appropriate use of his talents, but they don't really give it much screen time.

Taika Watiti got a fair amount of screen time in The Mandalorian. Of all the guest appearances on that series I am still torn between locking Amy Sedaris in a broom closet and stealing her costume and her role and seal-clapping like a fan girl.

Me: She got to hold Grogu!
    Reasonable person: It's a puppet.
    Me: Shut up!

I'll have to look up the Adult Swim thing. Thanks. Year of the Rabbit is still his best work imo.

The network primetime season starts this week. There aren't too many new shows that look interesting. There's the rebooted Quantum Leap and everything else seems to be cop, fire and lawyer shows. There is a journalism-based series, Alaska Daily, with Hilary Swank as a New York journalist seeking a fresh start in Anchorage.
